The battles are long and drawn out, but worth it.
Abusers should not go unnoticed and unpunished, and any organization that protects them should be punished to the full extent of the law.
Jehovah takes too damn long! Abusers do their deed now, therefore, shall pay now!

can anyone tell me how to fly under the radar of the elders?

Hi,
Get yourself very occupied with school and work; say nothing regarding spiritual stuff to nobody! For meeting attendance, develop these blinding migraines or horrible backaches that you just cannot attend as regular as usual.
There are myriads of ways how to begin a fade, or just do as little as possible in order not to lose your family. Pay attention to find kindred spirits within the Org and just start hanging out with your type of JW.
The quite large crew I roll with we are a bunch of quite liberal/moderate JWs, and we keep it very comfortable among us. It is sad to see people suffering in what should be a good way to live one's short life.

Hi,
Welcome to this most colorful online folks.
I have been at plenty of gatherings where non-practicing JWs have attended. I have been polite to them all the time there; reasonable, moderate JWs will be polite, not overly friendly of inclusive, but definitely polite. The orthodox ones will make you feel shunned and unwelcomed. Just gravitate towards the polite ones and you will be alright. Enjoy the occasion!

Anyone who feels and indeed knows they've been wronged NEEDS to demand and fight for justice. How else will the bad seed be cast away from the leadership?!
When Paul felt wronged, he then appealed to Cesar. We have been encouraged in the past to follow his example.
Demand your rights, this is one of the ways reform will come about. I look forward to when it becomes mandatory for elders to report all abuse to the local authorities rather than just keep it hush to try to save face.

Do you believe that we are living in the last days, and why?
by new light init has been a long time.. thanks to jw.org, i was reading some jw material (what does the bible teach i believe).
it was the first time reading a "book study" book in many years and i was blown away by the controlling, cultish writing.
this question especially struck me as manipulative: do you believe that we are living in the last days, and why?.

Hi,
According the Biblical accounts, we've been living in the last days ever since this fine writing has been in existence.
This is why many years ago, around the 'Generation' new light (mid-90s?), we had a large family/extended-family meeting in one of our homes in New England (funny, looking back it seemed so similar to a large thanksgiving gathering seeing in movies) where we feasted in tasty caribbean food; there, while enjoying this fine meal, one of our elders (in age and JW title as well) called to order and silence and stated that in light of this new development we as JWs and family as well should pay full attention to what the book of Revelation 4:11 said. From that point forward, although it should've been like this all along, we shall continue to serve our God for his wonderful creations, and not with 'anxious expectation of the end'.
His emphatic and self-assured words gave me goose bumps, but put into practice have brought a much better atmosphere to us all as a family and in our everyday lives. So, we went on forward to study secularly, travel, embarq in business ventures, etc., all as applicable, and continued on our JWism; all from a fresh perspective.
The 'end', whether by man's doing, by divine intervention or some natural cosmic event who really knows, will happen or just by merely dying as so many millions have experienced already. Our present reality is "Life ends"; so, while alive, enjoy it and keep moving forward in the goal you set for yourself and brings you happiness.
If the "end" as we JWs expect it happens, then, wonderful! It's about damn freaking time! But, since it hasn't and it seems that God himself is in no rush, is astoundingly foolish to live life just waiting for that event.
